About PVM

Why We Organize

We are a non-partisan grassroots group led by teens and supported by adults who work collaboratively to (pre)register teens (and other under-represented groups) to register to vote.  We meet once a week. We are building this website to collect and share best practices to fulfill our mission across the nation.

The Purpose of Parkland Voter Movement:

We are a non-partisan grassroots group led by teens and supported by adults who work collaboratively to (pre)register teens (and other under-represented groups) to register to vote.  We meet once a week. We are building this website to collect and share best practices to fulfill our mission across the nation.

Led by students and supported by adults trained in voter registration, volunteers work collaboratively with schools, organizations and events to organize voter registration drives that target the (pre)registration of 16-19 year olds (and others). Paper and online registration drives occur during classes, school assemblies, marches, blood drives, flea markets, etc. After new students register, they are encouraged to organize new drives and of course, vote.

Progress and Accomplishments:

In several months, hundreds of teen and adult volunteers, representing almost 30 high schools, have joined the Parkland Voter Movement. Approximately 50% of volunteers are students and 50% adults and over 30 received voter registration training. Website development is underway. Wristbands are in use. The League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City and The Fremont Unified School District have officially adopted the program as Founding Partners.
